So anyway! My amazing friend Tottums over at The Froggy And The Mouse did a post about what she's getting her 2 boys for Christmas and it inspired me to write about what we're getting Monkey and Snarfels. :) (BTW: GO to her site. She is "teh awesome". I swear it. :) Seriously, go check her out! I'll wait!)
After the last few years of going totally overboard for Monkey at Christmas we have decided to rein ourselves in this year. 1 big gift for the boys to share, 1 big gift for them individually and maybe one small gift for each. We know exactly what we're getting for Monkey (maybe not exact brands but exact type of items) but Snarfels is still a little up in the air as to his gift. To start here's what they're getting as their joint gift:

Now, I wanted to get them a bounce house. I was all set to buy it too when I was showing it to Monkey in the Toys R Us toy book and asked him if he wanted a bounce house for Christmas. "Yeah!" he exclaimed at first! Internally I jumped for joy because I could use the bounce house too and I thought that was great! Then he looked down the page and said "No bounce house. I want THIS house!" and proceeded to point at the Playhouse. Well...it's not what Mommy wants but it's what Monkey ASKED for specifically so....Mommy loses out. Ah well! At least the Playhouse is cheaper! So, ya know, bonus for that.
Monkey will be getting a Balance Bike as his individual gift:

I'm leaning toward the Glide Bikes "Mini Glider" because it has a removable foot rest (for when he finally gets to gliding) and a handle brake. I like the brake option b/c I have a feeling otherwise we'll be going through even MORE pairs of shoes due to toe braking. :)
If we go with a little gift as well Monkey will get this:

Because, yes, our 3 1/2 year old loves him some Angry Birds. :)
For Snarfels I'm thinking of going for this:

OR

They're both kinda pricey (I didn't realize Little People were so expensive!) so probably one or the other unless I can get a super good deal on both and then I'll do that.
Nothing has been purchased as of yet, but I'm thinking this week or next we'll get it all ordered to be sure it makes it all to the island in time for Santa to put it all under the tree. :) Although I'm not sure where we'll hide the Playhouse until then...should be interesting! :) All that will be left is stockings (which we now have one for each boy, lovingly made by my Mom! And they match! And I cried when I got Snarfels' in the mail last week!) which will have an apple, an orange and a few little things that I'm not sure of yet. I'm hoping to find a colorforms book for Monkey and for Snarfels...well...I have no idea right now! Ha! :)

Kaye, you might consider Playmobil. They have a fantastic Noah's Ark that is less expensive, and I know for a fact that their toys are very high quality (made in Germany, not China) and last a very long time (I still have my Playmobil dollhouse stuff from when I was a kid). I bought this for my Goddaughter and she LOVES her Playmobil (really, when she's MY Goddaughter, I don't think there was ever any doubt that she'd wind up loving Playmobil, LOL). Good luck! http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=6765&cgid=1.2.3
