I'm finally getting around to posting about Monkey's Birthday! It took me for.ev.er to go through and edit all the photo's my sister and I took but it was well worth it. :) I'll try to keep this from getting to be overkill b/c I know I could post all the pictures I love but it would make this entry about a million years long. :) If you want to see all the pictures from Monkey's Birthday week you can go here:

That's a guest pass to my flickr set from his birthday so you can peruse all the pictures at your own leisure. :)
Saturday (the 13th) my sister and I went shopping with the Monkey to grab some last needed items like table cloths and bowls and the FOOD! :) Papermart had everything I needed and the guy at the floral/balloon section of Giant Eagle was great because he told me if I dropped of my balloons that day they could have them ready for me Sunday morning without having to wait! So that was fantastic!
Sunday morning we all got ready and then stopped at Giant Eagle to pick up the balloons and then go the Rec Center to set up.

I'm so happy with how the banner I made turned out! And the way the whole place looked once we decorated. It all came together so well! :)
After some time to mingle and say hello to everyone the guest of honor arrived (he fell asleep in the car on the way to the Rec Center from picking up the balloons)! Once Monkey arrived people started eating. We had sandwiches and chips and "Monkey Munch" and 2 types of pasta salad and fruit bowls and vegetable trays! And of course the "Monkey on a Cupcake" cake!

Mim (my Mom) made the cake and it was so cute! :) She also made the monkey sitting on top of it! :) Which of course was the very first thing our little Monkey wanted to touch.

Singing to Monkey

Mommy and Daddy blowing out the candle

"Who cares about cake? I want that monkey!"

This was the extent of the "smashing". He wasn't interested in smashing the cake at all. Just dipped his fingers in the frosting and that was it!
Then we opened presents!

Presents!!!

Mommy was very excited at the book we just opened. :)

Mmmmmm....wrapping paper!

You can really see the onesie he wore in this shot. :) It worked perfectly with the theme!

On Monday we took lots of pictures in my parents neighbors front yard. When they came home from work I asked if we could use their front yard because they keep it so nice it made the perfect backdrop! :)

He did NOT like the grass at first!

It was a wonderful party and a wonderful 1st Birthday. :) We had a great time celebrating with friends and family and are so happy we could go home to have a party and celebrate! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends! :)
